Hand sewn garments, quality focused, responsibly produced, rich in tradition, and created in Alabama. THIS was a fun project to shoot. If you ever find yourself near Florence, Alabama, stop by the Alabama Chanin factory, browse their organic garments and home goods, then sit down for a bite of lunch at The Factory Café. So much southern goodness created by Natalie Chanin, right there in my home state. Read the full story in the current issue of Birmingham Weddings Magazine.
The process…pretty fascinating.

Thanks to the incredibly talented team of friends who made this shoot happen and to Birmingham Magazine for putting us on the cover of their Summer/Fall 2017 Weddings issue. And, if you know me well, you know how happy I am that it’s turquoise!
Be sure to pick up a copy on news stands now, and stay tuned for the full blog post to come…
Recently I purchased a new strobe lighting system to add to my arsenal of equipment for editorial and commercial work. Loved putting it to work for the first time on this holiday fashion and cocktails shoot for Birmingham Magazine. Special thanks to new The Grand Bohemian Hotel in Mountain Brook, AL for allowing us to shoot in their amazing hotel.

For the August issue of Birmingham Magazine, I photographed former Alabama Crimson Tide football player, Chester Lewis’ pimped out RV and competition traveling BBQ pit/smoker. I promise you that his RV was fancier than my house. It even had heated floors! But, inside I had to get it some awkward positions to photograph in some of the tightest spaces I’ve ever had to shoot. I love to be challenged in new ways! I’ll post just one image of Chester here, but you can see the rest of the images on al.com here. He definitely tailgates in style. Roll Tide!
In July, I photographed a hair and makeup shoot for the “Get Pretty” section of the summer/fall issue of Birmingham Weddings & Celebrations magazine, currently on newsstands. Here are some of my favorite images from our shoot. Hair by Clint King and makeup by Baeleigh Rodriguez at Sanctuary Salon.
