Twenty years ago when I started my business I shot

Twenty years ago when I started my business I shot only black and white film and printed black & white and warm tone sepia images on fiber based paper. Ever since Taylor Swift released her warm tone sepia promo images for The Tortured Poets Department album, I’ve wondered if this classic, soft and dreamy tone would make its way into modern wedding photography. She’s such a creative force that I wouldn’t doubt her nod to this look will find its way back into our photographic memories. (Maybe even this choker too - hello Clara Bow) I’m here for it. Here are some of my favorite bridal fashion images I took years ago for an editorial cover story re-edited in warm tone sepia. What do you think?

I met Emmie years ago when I photographed her brother’s wedding at Lake Martin, so I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph hers. I had so much fun spending a perfect spring afternoon yesterday with her and Brad for their Engagement Session that ended with her family inviting me to dinner. I have the sweetest brides and families who invite me into their lives for wedding days and experiences together that turn into friendships. I’ve been working with Jill & Alex Garmon of @ageventdesign & @aglighting photographing their talents for years, so when Jill asked me to photograph her daughter Sydney’s wedding I was so honored and the answer was an immediate yes!

Sydney & Logan met at The University of Alabama and now live in Florida on the bay. Boating and deep sea fishing is their favorite thing to do together, so of course we had their First Look and portraits at the dock in the neighborhood where they live. I loved getting to know this sweet couple who everyone adores for their kindness, authenticity and fun, adventurous spirits. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Logan Beyer, enjoy honeymooning in Bora Bora and Roll Tide!

Yesterday Sydney brunched with her best girls on the terrace of @pescado30a with idyllic views of @rosemary_beachfl rooftops. Today she marries Logan in a ceremony overlooking the ocean. It’s a perfect spring wedding weekend at the beach!
