Webb Boys Mini Session

I get the privilege of photographing the adorable (and fashionable) Webb boys every fall. And they are as sweet and well mannered as they are cute! Love catching up with their beautiful mom too!HDP-Webb-2_WEB.jpgHDP-Webb-28_WEB.jpgHDP-Webb-29_WEB.jpgHDP-Webb-14_WEB.jpg

Elle’s Newborn Session with Big Brother Owen

This is my third session with this sweet family this year and oh how I have loved spending time with them! From their Rosemary Beach session when Kristen was expecting, to the birth story of Elle, and now her newborn shots with her big brother, Owen. Isn’t she a doll!

Happy Easter!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter! I’d like to share the lyrics from my favorite Easter hymn with you…

Christ the Lord is ris’n today, Alleluia!
Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heav’ns, and earth, reply, Alleluia!
Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once He died our souls to save, Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!
Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids His rise, Alleluia!
Christ hath opened paradise, Alleluia!
Soar we now where Christ hath led, Alleluia!
Foll’wing our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!

And here’s a photo of my little peeps before our Easter lunch today…HDP_8070-copy-2

The Shaw Girls

I’ve been photographing these sisters since they were babies and have  loved watching them grow…all too quickly!  We got together yesterday afternoon for a quick session of headshots for an upcoming tryout the girls are doing. Good luck Bennett and Mae!

A New Year…a New Look!

I like change. Change is exciting, especially when you are a very visual person and creating something feels almost as important as breathing. I like change in my home decor, my clothes, my shoes, my music and my workouts…but my business identity is not something I want to change often. However, 2012 brought some new and exciting changes to the content of what I was shooting. In addition to my core business of portraits, in 2012 I second shot more weddings than ever and added national sports events to my portfolio, with more to come in 2013. After 10 years of the same logo, it was looking tired and did not represent my personal style or the style of my photography anymore; so I decided it was the perfect time to make a change.

I asked my talented friend Holly Hollon for her help because I knew she could create something from the ideas and styles that were swirling around in my head. I wanted a modern, clean look, playing off my initials, while keeping the same color palette . Turquoise has always been my favorite color because it reminds me of the beach. Just like the ocean water, it’s a place for my eyes to rest and makes me relaxed and happy…exactly how I want my clients to feel when I photograph them!

Here’s to a new year and a new look…cheers!
Heather

The Ledbetter Family

Beautiful light…Beautiful color…Beautiful family (inside & out)! I’ve known the sweet Ledbetter family for years through our children being in school, dance, sports and Bible study together. Marianne mentioned to me last year doing some family portraits for them because they hadn’t had any done since Matthew, their youngest, was a baby. We finally put it on the calendar for this fall and I enjoyed spending a beautiful afternoon with them at Aldridge Gardens.

Julie, Vinnie, Claire and Luke

Julie Harper is my dermatologist, and in addition to trusting her with keeping my skin healthy  (I’m still trying to work my way up to 70 SPF though), she’s a really sweet person and I’ve enjoyed getting to know her over the last few years.

For a while now, Julie and I have been talking about photographing her family, and finally decided to do it this fall. What a beautiful and fun family! Vinnie was quite entertaining singing his version of “Oh When the Saints Go Marching In”! It got a great belly laugh from his kids…and me! I might need to pay him to come along on all my shoots and sing! Here are some highlights from our session together at the cabin. This spot has been very popular this fall. I love it!

The Murphree Family

I’ve known the Murphree family for years because we were at Briarwood Church together for a while and went on a couple trip to the mountains together. For years I would admire their baby daughter Belle on the nursery hall because she looked like a china doll. I have wanted to get my camera on this family because they are beautiful inside and out and I finally got my chance this fall. All three children are adorable and sweet! I was smitten!

The Chance Family

My session with the Chance family started off with a quick sprinkle of rain (which thankfully stopped) and a little frog, who was quickly named “Jumpy”.

How do you ever say “no” to this cute pout?
