Classic Magic City Wedding at The Club

Laura + Werth

Laura and Werth met in Palo Alto, California during the Warriors playoff run and fell in love. She told me that it’s her family’s tradition to get engaged on the Fourth of July, so sticking with tradition, Werth asked Laura to marry him on on a pier in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City on Independence Day. After he slipped on the ring, they celebrated on the water watching the fireworks from a boat with her parents.

Although they live in New York now, the couple chose to get married in her hometown of Birmingham, Alabama surrounded by their beloved family and closest friends. The day began at Laura’s childhood home, where she slipped into her dress below the heirloom oil portrait of her as a little girl hanging on the wall. As a mom of a daughter too, that moment really moved me. It’s always so special to spend some of your wedding day in your childhood home where so many memories are held. After the dress had been buttoned and a special bracelet slipped on her wrist by her mom and sisters, Laura made her way to the back yard where she took photos with her bridesmaids and had her First Look with Werth.

That evening they exchanged vows at South Highlands Presbyterian Church, then celebrated into the night at The Club, with breathtaking views of the city skyline. Now New Yorkers, they exited their wedding night in a yellow taxi cab —  the perfect sendoff.

40 adults and 5 children in this wedding party! We pulled out all of our tricks to get all 45 looking at the camera.
