I’m behind on posting everything to the blog, because as you know, summer was crazy for me with lots of work travel, searching for a home in another city and finally, moving our family from Birmingham to Nashville. So, I’m trying my best to get caught up now.
Last spring I begin shooting projects for Larry Taunton, who is an American author, columnist and cultural commentator. Mr. Taunton is also the founder and executive director of the Fixed Point Foundation. A frequent television and radio guest, Larry has appeared on CNN, CNN International, Fox News, Al Jazeera America, and BBC. You can find his columns on issues of faith and culture in The Atlantic, USA Today, CNN.com, and The Blaze. Mr. Taunton has been quoted by Rush Limbaugh, The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, TIME, Vanity Fair, and NPR, among others. He is the author of The Grace Effect and The Faith of Christopher Hitchens.
Larry and I met because of some work I had done for his friends Rick and Sherri Burgess. He was in the process of rebranding and revising his website and needed images to tell the story of his work. We began by photographing Larry and his staff in Birmingham. A few months later I went with he and his assistant to New York City. Larry was promoting his new book, The Faith of Christopher Hitchens, on a radio interview with Eric Metaxas, (radio personality and author of Bonhoeffer and If You Can Keep It). Larry was also the special guest being interviewed by Eric Metaxas for the Socrates in the City event at the Union League Club.
Here’s a few of the photos from our shoots in Birmingham and New York City…
Larry in New York for the Eric Metaxas radio interview and event…Famous talk show host, Dick Cavett was in the audience.
He was such a kind soul and let me take a quick head shot of him…
I loved being back in the city with its hustle and bustle and shooting on the streets of New York. (Instagram photo)
There wasn’t a lot of free time while there, but I did have a spare minute early one morning to get in a Soul Cycle class. Loved it! Such a great sweat session with a fantastic playlist! I think we need a Soul Cycle in Nashville! (Instagram photo)
My next post will be images from our trip to Southern France. It was so beautiful and an amazing experience! I can’t wait to share it with you.
