Sunday was the final round of the Regions Tradition PGA Champions Tour golf tournament at Shoal Creek, and it was a tricky one to shoot. Scattered thunderstorms loomed over us throughout the day, with play being delayed several times. It was muggy and wet, and my protective rain covers kept going on and off my equipment. Twice I found myself sprinting for cover with all my gear when the bottom broke out all of a sudden. However, looking on the bright side…I was thankful that one of the storms hit right at lunch time!
Although the weather was not all sunshine and blue skies, our community came out in a big way to support the tournament. David Frost from South Africa took the win, one stroke under Fred Couples. Here are some highlights from the final round.
David Frost was so kind to all the media! He wanted a champagne toast in the media center with everyone after his interviews. How nice is that?!
My brother sacrificed a day with his family to join me out on the course. He loves the game of golf and is very good at it. I mean, really good! He was a huge help to me, checking weather radar, keeping me up to date on the leader board and navigating around the course. Plus, I can’t remember the last time we spent 12 hours straight together! What a fun day! Here’s a photo of us (waterlogged) with the champion.
And I would like to give a shout out to David Frost Wine and Golf for the compliment of sharing my images on their Facebook page after the tournament.
