A few weeks ago I was asked to put on my other hat, as fitness instructor, to be photographed for a style editorial in Birmingham Magazine. I am WAY more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it; but I agreed to do it because I love fitness training and it’s been such an important part of my life for almost 20 years.
I was asked to hop on a mountain bike at Oak Mountain State Park trails, on a beautiful fall evening, and wear clothes from Lululemon Athletica (my favorite)! How fun is that! Plus, I met another Birmingham photographer, Mary Lou Davis, whose cute daughter, Honey, was assisting Mary Lou and also featured mountain climbing in the article. It was really a fun experience! Here’s the page from Birmingham Magazine. And for the record, I still prefer to be BEHIND the camera!
We had the most magnificent sunset during our shoot! All I had with me was my iPhone, but at least I was able to capture it. God is an amazing artist. Sunsets like this always make me think of the Bible verse in Psalm 119, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.”
