Kelly + Ben Married at Lake Mitchell

I’m a little behind on blogging, so I’m SO excited to finally share this lake wedding! When Jessi D. of High Cotton Weddings [based in Clanton, AL], asked me to second shoot this wedding with her in May, I was thrilled! I had seen her work and felt like our styles would mesh beautifully.

Kelly and Ben were high school sweethearts, and the wedding was held at Kelly’s family’s home on Lake Mitchell. It was a fairytale setting and we had gorgeous sunny weather! From the sprawling green lawn with white chairs perfectly placed, to the string lights over the pool, and the gazebo at the end of the dock where they said their vows…everything was just perfect.

The reception was a fun celebration, with Feel the Beat as the music entertainment. They always do a great job of making sure everyone has a fun time to some good tunes. And the fun started with a choreographed dance by the groom and Mother-of-the-Groom that began as a slow dance and then all of a sudden changed into them breaking it down. SO cute! Then there was a dance-off between the groom and groomsmen and the bride and bridesmaids. And if all that isn’t enough to peek your curiosity for the images, the Father-of-the-Bride surprised the couple with a fireworks show over the water before their departure!

Here’s what I saw through my lens. It’s a lot of images, but I just had to tell the story of Kelly & Ben’s amazing day as I saw it unfold. Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I did taking them! I love my job!

As we were photographing Kelly in the doorway, her dad came around the corner and surprised us all by cocking his shotgun, like “stay away from my baby girl”! He had such a fun sense of humor! We all cracked up laughing.

At the end of the night, we had a little playtime of our own in the photo booth. Here I am with Jessica and her husband John. I had so much fun shooting with them!
