A few weeks ago Emily Kicklighter and I photographed Melanie and Rowan’s wedding at Independent Presbyterian Church on Highland Avenue, which I think is the most beautiful church building in Birmingham. The architecture and stained glass are incredible, as you will see in the photos.
Since Rowan is from Louisville, KY, the reception was a nod to The Kentucky Derby, with mint julep tea, Kentucky Derby pie, and of course, shrimp and grits. But my favorite treats there were the caramel baby bites from Pastry Art. They are bliss, and I have no will power over them! They call me by name!
Melanie and Rowan have the sweetest story and Emily and I were so honored to capture their day as they were surrounded by their friends and loved ones to exchange their vows and celebrate this new chapter of their lives together.
