A drive through the country

A drive in the country this afternoon reminded me of the song I sang as a child and have sung to my own kids… “The B-I-B-L-E, yes that’s the book for me, I stand alone on the Word of God, the B-I-B-L-E.” I do love living in the Bible Belt!

Since the kids were out of school today, my husband took off work and we went on our annual family trip to the pumpkin patch. After the hay ride, picking out pumpkins and jumping in the big blow ups we went for a drive to check out the hunting club my husband just joined. I love driving in the country because there are ALWAYS great things to photograph. Today, we passed something I just had to capture, so I asked Brad to turn around and let me jump out of the car to take a few shots. With two kids in the car eager to climb in and explore some shootin houses at the club, I needed to make it quick. Here’s a few of the images I was able to get…

These crosses bordered a piece of property along the side of the road and each cross had a book of the Bible on it. Pretty neat! After seeing the images when I got home, I wish I had shot them with a little more depth of field so you could read more than just the closest cross, but I was in a hurry.

Once we got to the hunting club there were all of these amazing fields full of tall grass and bright yellow flowers. Brad wants to go there to shoot deer and turkey, but I’d like to go there to “shoot” people! What a fabulous place for sessions. I love to shoot in fields and there just aren’t enough close in to Birmingham! I’m on a mission to find some though!
