The Alford Family – Watercolor, FL

I’ve known the Alfords for years; and although they live in Watercolor now, I’m hoping to get them back to Birmingham soon! However, if I was them I wouldn’t want to leave there either! What a beautiful and fun place to call home!

I was so excited when Elizabeth asked me to photograph their sweet family while I was down at the beach for my weekend family vacation this month. I still remember their son and our daughter on their first Halloween, dressed up (or swallowed up) in their costumes! I can’t believe that was almost 9 years ago and their days of costumes are now numbered!

Hope you don’t mind, but I’m including a lot of images in my post from this session. I could have shot all day!

Across the street from their home is a pond with bullrushes surrounding it. The light on those bullrushes was so amazing that I asked if we could climb over by them and shoot there before we headed over to the beach. I just couldn’t waste that incredible sun flare of golden light!

Oh! And as we headed over to the beach, we realized we were sharing the beach with the Nashville Predators dance girls who were being photographed for their calendar. Let’s just say we weren’t the most exciting ones to watch on the beach…at least to some people! 😉

The sunset was amazing that night, with bright, vivid colors that changed as the sun was dropping…a beautiful reminder of God’s awesomeness!
