I love second shooting weddings with my friend Emily Kicklighter! She is truly fabulous and makes wedding photography feel effortless! She’s so fun and relaxed while shooting, which her clients (and second shooters) love! Emily tells the story of the day beautifully in her images and I consider it a privilege to shoot with her.
Last month we photographed Sarah and John’s wedding together. It was a perfect March day at Sarah’s family home and land out in Chelsea where we went first to capture “getting ready” and ended the night with the reception there. The ceremony was at Altadena Valley Presbyterian Church which I love because it has so much character with it’s painted white wood and picket fence. Oh the wedding had many memorable details, like birdseed hearts and mason jar lanterns hanging from the trees, hand painted signs on old pieces of wood, galvanized buckets full of iced down bottled Cokes, and the Goodies ice cream truck showing up, just to name a few. But my favorite detail of all was that God was right in the center of this precious family and their joyous celebration.
Here’s a glimpse of what I saw through my lens. Well, not really a “glimpse”…I’ve actually included a lot of images! Since I’ve only just recently starting doing weddings, shooting and sharing them is bliss! Hope you enjoy.
