A professional photographer’s personal project of capturing one photo a day for an entire year. Family. Friends. Love. Life. 365 Moments.
My last 365 Project was in 2012, so it is time once again for me to capture everyday life moments…big moments, small moments and everything in between. This project is about the simple and personal goal of shooting and choosing one photo to define each day of the year. It’s about documenting my life — real life, and the people, events, activities, and things that are important to me and inspire me. In this digital age of shooting a million pictures on our phones, the challenge is choosing to use our real DSLR or film cameras and printing our photos. So just like my first 365 project, I will be shooting this with mostly with my Nikon DSLR and printing these moments in a book that our family can enjoy and keep for years to come. I’m still amazed how many times I catch my kids and their friends flipping through our first book. It’s a treasure. Thanks for stopping by! This project is also on Instagram at @heatherdurham2016 if you want to follow there. I hope you’ll be inspired to shoot and print your life.
Scout got to see her sister “Dixie” today.
Cousins. Best Buddies.
Wrapped up in love for this pup. Surprised I haven’t landed on my face yet.
Art Honor. Is it sad that I get more excited about an art honor than any other academic subject?
Life moments. Wedding album, baby bump and a new home for this client.
Finally got to catch up on my magazine pile.
Super Bowl Sunday with this crazy bunch, plus a few who had already left to go home. Thanks for hosting Farrah!
Post Saturday morning session. Thank you Louie for making the weight room fun again and for pushing me! Love my Y!
When boredom sets in, there’s always dancing.
Playing Prodigy math game before school. Scout is like me…not interested in math.
Watching the coffee making process thru the glass while waiting on my cup of Joe to go. They might start charging me rent. [Octane Birmingham]
Buddies. These four love a good play date.
Sometimes you need a Sunday afternoon with a girlfriend to be inspired and dream a little. Amazing job Chris Reebals and team from Christopher Architects & Interiors. It was gorgeous.
Beautiful day to roam around 12th South in Nashville.
Hello Nashville. It’s good to be back!
Abbie’s birthday was over Christmas break when she was home in L.A. Today she finally opened her present. Happy Late Birthday Abbie! Next time take me home with you to celebrate!
Abbie is back!!! Christmas break was way too long. Missed her like crazy. We had a fun day together. (Excuse the iPhone shot on this one. We were in a hurry.)
It’s been 3 years since my last business photos were taken and I’m supposed to get new ones taken tomorrow by my fab intern, Abbie. I haven’t had time to shop for something to wear until 8:00 tonight. I think I may just wear this. Ugh.
When life is mundane and there’a nothing exciting to shoot, the 365 Project will probably default to the pup, who’s getting bigger by the day. Feel free to unfollow as needed. ha ha. ;)
Spent the day photographing a beautiful Lake Martin home designed by Christopher Architects. The rest of the team left early, so I enjoyed a peaceful and quiet afternoon to myself…just me and my camera.
Neighbors kids have the best toys (and cool basketball shoes)! Wonder if they will look back fondly on hover boards like we do Big Wheels?
Snow Day with church and neighborhood friends!
In the basement practicing her dance for the last pep rally and game of the year.
After school snacks before the girls go to the dance studio. And yes, Luke is doing the whip and nae nae.
Apparently it was an awesome day of Pokemon card trading at recess. He ran to the car super excited to tell me about it.
I swore I would never allow this… Just this once…
Brad was duck hunting in Arkansas all weekend. When he got home tonight it was time to let Scout check out one of his mallards. Training has begun.
Date night with my favorite 9 year old to watch Star Wars The Force Awakens…again. Since Dad and big sis aren’t here, he asked to sleep i the bed with me. He won’t ask forever.
Celebrating with sweet friends.
Can’t help it. She’s still a puppy in her first year, so I want to grab her firsts like I did my first children. Today…first visit to the vet.
Scout’s pretty happy about some Alabama football too. Can’t you tell?
We passed this ferris wheel every day while were were in Atlanta. So tonight, after dinner, while I was waiting on rush hour traffic to clear before heading back to Birmingham, I decided I would go check it out…and ride it…by myself. It lit up in several different colors. I waited for the best one.
Cheering on the Tide from our hotel room in Atlanta. It’s been a busy but productive day at Imaging. Come on Bama! Bring home that National Championship trophy!
Checking into our hotel after a long day at the Imaging USA Conference in Atlanta. Love getting to spend time with my friend Lyn, who lives in Knoxville.
Tired of tangles. January rainy day project.
This kid is 94 and we celebrated him tonight. My Grandad truly is the kindest, most loving man I’ve ever known. I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever heard him speak an unkind word about another person. Ever. He’s a prince and I love him to pieces.
It’s been such a fun year with these sweet girls! Can’t believe there’s only two games left.
I never have time to read and I want to change that in 2016, starting tonight. Thank you Sherri Burgess for the copy of your book and for sharing so much wisdom on these pages.
Saying goodnight to Daddy who’s in Omaha (and spinning a lime) before bedtime.
The holidays are over and it’s back to business with this guy. Love our great team of personal trainers and instructors at the YMCA of Birmingham.
I originally posted another photo for today, but then this happened later that night, and I knew it was the one I wanted in our book. It stole my heart.
Bath time for Scout.
New Years Day Baby. 13th Birthday. A best friend.
